Ground Transportation

Location dependent pricing based on mileage from Roanoke Virginia's surrounding area of Troutville Virginia 24175 I-81 ten miles from exit 156. The fee is $0.75 for group ground transportation from a service plus $250 deposit plus the certificate of health $100. If private ground transportation the cost is $1.50 per mile one way plus $350 deposit if using professional service plus certificate. These estimates are as of 2025. If a service is utilized, they will coordinate drop-off location and finalize pricing. They are professional, clean, and schedule potty breaks.

If my sons are delivering, I choose a location with cameras just off the interstate.

We may be willing to go farther or arrange a different spot. I don't drive farther than 4 hours but my boys may. I am happy to look into flights at those distances. If not then I can pass off to a professional service who will cost more as they have certificate of health requirements and deposits in addition to the mileage fee but they offer a discounted group delivery.

I, my sons, or a service provide transportation for a fee with a general estimate of $0.75 per mile for ground group transportation, $1.50 for private ground transportation, $1000 - $2200 for flight nanny services avg., plus $100 for the Certificate of Health and $150 avg. for airline pet fee, and the professional service charges $350 private / $250 group deposit in addition to the fee per mile.

Flight Nanny

Either myself, my sons, or transportation service will get your new puppy home safely. All flights require the $100 Certificate of Health and charge a pet fee of approx. $150. Fee estimate is roughly $1000 - $2200 from Roanoke Virginia ROA to the airport near you in the lower 48 USA. If I can find a cheaper option that is reasonable, refundable, and changeable I will use it and pass on the savings to you. This is an estimate for 2025. Shih tzu under 15 pounds can fly in cabin, any larger may need approval. Dalmatians probably can't do a flight in cabin due to size at 8 weeks old and cargo isn't for puppies, ground transport is for medium and large breed dogs. Dalmatians have a short window of time they are small enough to travel in cabin as they can't be taller than 10" (at the wither I think as it is up to the attendant based on their opinion, the pet has to be able to stand and turn around in a 11"H x 11"W x 18"L bag) to fit under the seat. $100 for the special health certificate needed for all public transport. The fee depends on hours until I am able to get back with a turnaround roundtrip. If I am unable to return same day, even if taking a late-night flight as most flights halt at midnight until 5 am, I must include hotel cost if overnight layover or no flight schedule allows return same day. Refundable, changeable, and insured flights are a requirement. When all those needs are considered that $300 google flight search is no longer an option especially when you understand those prices usually require a week stay and immediate round-trip options cost much more. My cost for the day which is about $20 per hour including my puppy prep and travel to and from the airport and TSA time and layovers. If you are mid to west coast, it may require a hotel, taxi, food. These are estimates only in 2025 to give you an idea of costs.

Money is due for the pup before pick up if doing online payment or if the pup is being delivered so the transaction can go through on the platform. We can discuss special circumstances.

Cash will be checked for counterfeit and I will only accept regular checks If I know you and your family, a cashier's check is acceptable. If we met on Good Dog then I must take payment on their platform, Klarna credit is available through them as well as payment by check or credit card.

If through the GoodDog platform remember you are protected in this transaction and will be reimbursed by them if I don't deliver, they protect me too in case the buyer is the bad actor.
